Rare and curious diorama in the form of a green calf binding decorated with small irons; the ribbed spine with fleur-de-lys reserves and titled Mineralogist's Grammar; it contains a model of a four-level mine showing the various ore extraction processes. 18th century. (accident to clasp, a few accidents). Enclosed is a label relating a very likely family tradition: "Livre ayant servi au Comte du Puget, our great-grandfather, the Dauphin's sub-governor to Louis XVI, to teach him what a mine was".
