ARISTOTE. Aristotelis Stagiritae, rhetoricorum libri tres. Eiusdem de poetica liber unus. Paris, Ioann Libert, 1629. 1 vol. in-8. Full contemporary tan calf, triple gilt fillet on the boards, gilt arms and fleur-de-lys on the boards, spine with nerves decorated in the same way. 2] ff, 350 pp, 86 pp. Rare 17th century Greek printing. > Copy of Thomas II de Morand, baron du Mesnil-Garnier, lord of Eterville, Courseulles and Soulles. Commander and grand treasurer of the King's orders in 1621. He died in 1651. In 1620 he founded perpetual prizes to be distributed at the College du Mont in Caen. Therefore, we find his arms stamped on volumes published after his death. Handwritten bookplate on the counterplate of Count Alphonse de la Guère. O.H.R. 2134, n°2.
