JAPAN, EDO PERIOD COMPLETE NIMAI-DÔ TOSEI GUSOKU ARMOR including : . two-part dô breastplate, seven-panel kusazuri skirt and sode shoulder pads, all in black-lacquered kiritsuke-kozane and laced with midnight-blue kebiki-odoshi, the sode with kanmuri-ita and embellished with openwork gold kanamono of chrysanthemum flowers and leaves ; . shinogote-style kote handles, with black plates and iron mesh on brocade ; . The iyo-haidate, gold-lacquered on a silk brocade background ; . shino-suneate leggings . suji-bachi-kabuto helmet with twenty-eight brown-lacquered iron slats, crowned with a five-tiered tehen-kanamono; shikoro with four black-lacquered slats, wavy edge, laced in sugake-odoshi, the upper plate bearing two large fukigaeshi ; . Reissei-type mempo in brown lacquered iron, red on the reverse, with yodarekake with four straight strips. (Not completely in suite; accidents, lacquer gaps, wear, dirt, missing mempô whiskers). A carrying case is included.
