Tibet, 20th century, Large wooden stupa in three parts, the lower part with square medhi section carved with lotus petals, above which rest Buddhist lions surrounding three triratna jewels encircled by a flaming mandorla, the hemispherical Anda dome symbolizing the celestial vault, decorated with light-relief trimmings and cabochons of turquoise and coral-colored stones. The circumference of the central part is incised with calligraphy evoking the Heart Sutra, evoking concepts of Buddhist wisdom. H. 61 cm
