Japan, Meiji period (1868-1912) Lacquer photo album, comprising 49 black and white photos, enhanced with polychrome, depicting views of temples including Karamoh Iyeyasu, Iyemitsu in Nikko, Kiyomidzu in Kioto... portraits, market scenes, landscapes (Canman road in Nikko, Futago Islands Matsushima, palace garden...) tea ceremony and architecture (Imperial castle in Tokyo...). Black lacquer dishes decorated in hira maki-e and taka maki-e with a sailboat among reeds in front of Mount Fuji on the front, the back decorated with foliage and butterfly. Size: 27 x 35 cm.
