Attributed to Michel Mann and his workshop (active in Augsburg and Nuremberg, died around 1630) Small rectangular copper box, gilded and engraved, standing on 4 ball feet. Hinged handle. The lid decorated with a couple on horseback, the sides with animals, birds, plants and a man of quality. The bottom is decorated with foliage. The inside of the lid features an iron lock mechanism. 7.3 x 4.5 x 5 cm. South Germany, circa 1600. Missing hinge nails, accident to an inner hinge and a worn plate with missing gilding. Mechanism to be revised. Lid detached from body.
