China 18th century, Kangxi period (1661-1722) Two bitong brushholders, in porcelain and enamels of the green family, decorated on the first with a sage accompanied by his two disciples, one carrying scrolls, the other a qi, the scene taking place on a terrace planted with flowering shrubs. The second features a young woman leaning against a rock, watching two children playing on a terrace surrounded by clouds, from which the ridge of a pavilion emerges. Mounted in European gilt bronze jardinières. H. 14 cm
