China, Qing period, late 18th century, A rare pair of baluster-shaped, flat-bottomed vases in porcelain and Famille Rose enamels, with sanguine and gold highlights, decorated in several medallions with court scenes and scenes of daily life, with figures in traditional costumes against a background of geometric motifs. Two unfolded, coral-enameled chilongs form handles. Restorations to the handles and neck of one. H. 49.5 cm
