Japan, 18th century Iron menpô mask of the ressei type, with removable nasal part, cheeks enhanced with cut edges and openwork ear guards, and red lacquered interior. With a four-blade black lacquered kittsu-kozane yodarekake, joined in a blue kebiki-odoshi. (Gaps and cracks in the lacquer on the reverse of the mask, small restored damage to the yodarekake).
