JAPAN 19th century, Bronze mirror with a beautiful silver patina, finely chased with a turtle under a longevity pine surrounded by cranes. The reverse features a Buddha seated in meditation on a lotus, holding a flower. Incised calligraphy completes the ornamentation: "The sea of happiness and longevity is boundless, the Buddha's loving eyes are turned towards all living beings". D. 12.4 cm
