Pair of egg-shell porcelain cups on small heels, with polychrome enameled decoration on a yellow ground, of two floriform medallions, one decorated with a scene of young women conversing in a garden and on terraces, the second illustrating the legend of Dong Yong and the 7 fairies, allegory of loyalty and true love.
The interior features nine five-clawed dragons, spread around the sacred jewel. A frieze of ruyi heads and a Greek garland complete the ornamentation of the inner rim of the bowls. The outer rim and heel feature the same decoration.
Apocryphal Qianlong mark with four blue enamelled characters, in kaishu on the reverse.
