China, Qing period Court dress, in silk and linen embroidered with polychrome threads, in a cameo of blue and coral on a yellow ground, the front and back decorated with eight five-clawed dragons, one in the center facing the sacred pearl surrounded by flames, two others pursuing the same jewel on either side of the Sacred Peaks emerging from the tumultuous, foaming waves, taking the form of ruyi in the lower part, and from which emerge strands of coral. Other dragons appear on the sleeves. The ornamentation is completed by bats, precious objects (such as endless knots, double carp, lotus, conch shell, Buddhist canopy, lustral water vase, wheel of law, sound gong, etc.), stylized clouds in the shape of lingzhi, shou (longevity) characters. The ends of the sleeves (cut) and the bottom of the dress are adorned with chevrons (lishui).
