China, Qing period, 19th century, Two Zitan (Pterocarpus) wood doors, formed of two panels in their frames, with finely carved half-relief decoration of two vigorously deployed dragons with five claws, surrounded by stylized clouds and emerging from foaming waves. Six mercury-gilded copper elements, chased with lotus flowers and serving as hinges and lock escutcheons, complete the ornamentation. Two crosspieces, possibly one for the lower part of the cabinet and one for the cornice, are included. Chips, small splinters, damage to the end of one of the door frames.
