A Angers, MDCCLXXIX [1779] In French, manuscript on paper France, Angers, dated 1779 [5] non-ch. ff. (including table) -151 pp. (pp. 3-6 are missing, but this appears to be a pagination error) + [6] non-ch. ff. (including table) - 45 pp. preceded by 3 endpapers and followed by [22] blank ff. a few endnotes and endpapers, cursive script, manuscript in two parts, inscription on verso of first endpaper: "P. B. Dubourg". Bound in half-basane with corners, spine with 4 nerves, red leather title-piece with gilt lettering, boards covered with dominoté paper, marbled edges, turned marbled paper end-papers. Joints fragile, headpieces dull, boards faded, but period binding. Size: 160 x 200 mm. Interesting collection copied by an Angers calligrapher. Authors of this collection of songs or poems include: Mademoiselle de Scudéry, Mademoiselle Bernard, Marmontel, Madame Deshoulière, Monsieur de Sedaine, Madame de la Sablière, Scarron, Voltaire, Molière, Corneille, Crébillon et alia. At the end of the volume, writings on the art of poetry, in particular Boileau's poetic principles, followed several leaves later by considerations on the acrostic, the ode and a text entitled "De la poësie".
