China 19th century, Small silver and vermeil box with double-sided decoration of figures on tree-lined terraces and calligraphy in cartouches resting on a blue enameled background. One evokes "longevity", the other "joy and immortality". The lid is incised with Tibetan inscriptions. Stamp of the "Maoji" comptoir founded in 1864 by an Englishman in Yantai. Dim. 5 x 4.5 cm
