Set of two sabers. Comprising: A German infantry officer's saber Blücher-style brass mounting, curved grooved blade with remnant markings. Single-ring steel scabbard. Regimented "9.JR" for 9th infantry regiment, on the hilt. Period, 1870 war, late 19th century. Model 1855 infantry officer's saber. Brass mounting. Oval cap with laurel wreath, fillet joint, openwork top decorated with flowers, drop-shaped quillon. Horn spindle, filigree redone. Slightly curved blade with throat, two gutters and counter-edge marked Couleau cie Klingenthal". Iron scabbard with two bracelets. Some oxidation. France, Third Republic period.
