Chine, première moitié du XXe siècle Study of corbels for curved roofs in the Qing dynasty, by Liang Sicheng. Black-and-white and color print on paper, made for Tsinghua University of Architecture. Mounted on a roll. Dim. 87 x 41 cm. Liang Sicheng (1901-1972) was a great architect and scholar, son of Liang Qichao (1873-1929), a political figure of the late Qing dynasty and Minguo period. Liang Sicheng's wife, Lin Huiyin, also an architect (the first woman architect in China), helped design the Chinese national flag.
