Chine, XVIIIe siècle A silver and vermeil ewer, the handle adorned with a ruyi head and the spout spat out by a mahakala, joined at the neck by a dragon and a lingzhi. The body is finely chased with two medallions decorated with blossoming lotus flowers and foliage. Mountain peaks emerging from foaming waves, banana blossoms and a Greek frieze complete the ornamentation on the neck and pedestal. Calligraphy on the reverse indicates that the teapot weighs 18.24 liang. Weight 639.2 gr. H. 22 cm.
