Antique lacquered bronze subject depicting the bodhisattva
Avalokiteshvara seated in dhyanasana on a high, lotiform base formed of three rows of lotus petals, his two hands brought to his lap in vitarka-mudra, a high, stylized tiara with a finial encircling his bun.
With its base in wood with a fine patina, carved with openwork foliage.
Note: the subject and the lotiform base have been fused together, which is rare.
(wear to the lacquer, minor casting defects).

French collection, by descent since the early 20th century.
