Charles Louis MULLER (Paris 1815 - 1892) The country party Watercolor on black pencil lines Signed lower left C. L. Muller 41 x 57 cm Provenance: Anonymous sale, Paris, Hôtel Drouot, December 4, 2019, (Me Th. De Maigret), n° 100, reproduced). A student of Gros and Cogniet, Muller painted both portraits and genre scenes. He exhibited at the Salon from 1834. He was also a renowned decorator, painting among other things the ceiling of the Salon Denon in the Louvre between 1863 and 1866.
