VIETNAM, XVIIIe siècle - début XIXe siècle Large gold lacquered wood subject with polychrome highlights, representing the Bodhisattva of Compassion Quán Thé Âm- Avalokiteshvara with eight arms, the main hands in the chuân-dê gesture, a gesture specific to this form of Bodhisattva, the other six hands holding attributes, those at the top presenting the sun and the moon, two heads appearing in relief at the back of the skull, depicting a wrathful deity and an animal, the deity resting on a quadrangular base decorated with dragons in light relief. Total height : 112 cm (cracks and lacquer gaps, accidents to the arms, missing an attribute)
