Naval officer's saber model 1837. Oval cap assembled to the ferrule decorated with a frieze of scallops. Jointing arch pierced for the passage of the strap, with decorations of winding of cords, joining the openwork plate with decorations of navy anchor and vine leaves. Curved quillon with a dogfish head. Horn spindle, missing watermark. Slightly curved blade with groove and gutter. A leather scabbard with a scallop shell and a naval anchor under a royal crown is attached (accidents and missing parts). Total length: 82 cm. France, mid 19th century.
