Saber of officer of light cavalry. - Lot 137
Saber of officer of light cavalry. Bronze mounting. Cap in the shape of a lion's head stock assembled at the ferrule, flat then quadrangular jointing arch, palmette-shaped cruise and curved quillon. Wooden fuse formerly covered with shagreen on which was added a plate with the number M under royal crown and radiating bottom. Slightly curved blade with rush and carp tongue, acid engraved with trophies and scrolls. Iron scabbard with three brass fittings and two suspension rings (iron part probably added at the time of re-use at the same time as the plate was affixed to the fuse). Total length : 95 cm. 19th century period.
