[MANUSCRIT]. [DEVOTION]. Four scriptural extracts for liturgical feasts: For the day of the presentation of J. Ch. and the purification of Mary; For the day of ashes; For the feast of the Blessed Sacrament; For the day of the exaltation of the Cross of Jesus Christ In French, manuscript on paper With a drawing: pen, black ink and black ink wash on paper (attributed to Gravelot) France, 18th century 257 pp, preceded by 6 ff. of paper and followed by 11 ff. of paper, cursive writing in brown ink, text inscribed in a frame with a border in pale red ink, drawing placed in the frontispiece, depicting the Presentation of Jesus Christ (Circumcision; feast of the Purification of Mary on February 2). Bound in brown calf, spine with five raised bands, gilt lettering on the spine, simple cold fillet framing the boards, roulettes on the edges and inside, gilt edges, combed marbled paper. Spellings, a few stains on the boards, brittle spines, one page cut out between pp. 8-9 but without missing text, pagination follows without interruption. Size: 100 x 155 mm. The ink and wash drawing depicting the Presentation in the Temple (Circumcision) is attributed in pencil to "Gravelot". It must be Hubert-François Bourguignon d'Anville, known as Gravelot (1699-1773), an illustrator, engraver and painter who was successful in the early eighteenth century Provenance: 1. Handwritten inscription on the second guard: "From the house of new Catholics of Blois. - 2. ex-libris vignette pasted on the upper back cover: " Bibliothèque de Mr. Jules Pardonneau à Tours ".
