[CLERGY]. Extract from the proces verbal de l'assemblée géné - Lot 385
[CLERGY]. Extract from the proces verbal de l'assemblée généralele du clergé de France. In French, manuscript on paper France, XVIIth c. (after 1625/1626) In-4, [3] ff. of endpapers + 63 ff. followed by [10] ff. blank, writing in brown ink. Bound in full tan calf, spine with 5 nerves partitioned and decorated with flowers, red edges. Waxed boards, upper spine split. Dimensions : 195 x 267 mm. The general assembly of the clergy of France was held in 1625-1626 at the Augustinian Convent in Paris. The Assemblies of the clergy met regularly until 1788, generally every five years from 1625, and at the rate of two types: the Assembly of accounts and the Assembly of the contract. As early as the Assembly of Melun, in 1579, it was foreseen that the secretaries should make eighteen or twenty handwritten copies of the minutes for the provinces, and that all those who needed extracts should have recourse either to the original kept in the archives or to these copies. In 1625, provision was also made for copies to be sent to the dioceses. The present extract of the minutes is intended for the diocese of Macon (see fol. 63v).
