[MALASSIS, Edmond]. ERCKMANN-CHATRIAN (collective pseudonym of Émile Erckmann and Alexandre Chatrian). L'Ami Fritz. Paris, Louis Conard, 1909. 1 vol. in-12. Full Empire green morocco, cold framing on the boards, spine decorated with cold boxes, gilt author and title, red morocco lining, framed with cold and gilt fillets and cold fleurons at the corners, gilt edges, covers and spine kept [CH. MEUNIER - 1910]. 16 illustrations by Edmond Malassis engraved in colors by Louis Mortier; 8 decorative motifs engraved on wood. Limited edition of 170 numbered copies; this is one of 150 (n° 44) on vellum. A portrait of the two authors engraved in intaglio by Le Nain, pasted on one of the preliminary leaves. A copy bound in doubled morocco signed Charles Meunier. Slight rubbing to the headbands, nerves, spines and corners.
