17th century ITALIAN school, follower of Luca CAMBIASO The Deposition of the Cross Pen and brown ink, brown wash. 32,5 x 25,5 cm. Bears at the bottom center the stamp of an unidentified collection n°45 (Lugt n° 2707). Bears in the upper left corner of the mount a label n° 264. Our work is a remake with variants of the drawing The Deposition of the Cross, by Luca Cambiaso, preserved in Besançon at the Musée des Beaux-arts (B. Suida - Manning and W Suida, Luca Cambiaso, la vita e le opere, Milan, 1958, reproduced fig.330), The painting is preserved in Genoa in the church of Di Santa Chiara sopra il Bisagno (see Opus quoted above, reproduced fig. 329).
