EDOUARD NAVELLIER (1865 - 1944) Reclining cat in bronze with a medal patina on a wooden base. Signed on the right front paw. Dimensions (with base) : 10 x 15 x 7.5 cm. An identical subject is kept at the Musée d'Orsay under the inventory number RF 3260 with the inscription "I dedicate this study to Marguerite-Jeanne Raigné the sweet and charming companion of my life. Study of a cat n° 4. Bronze chased and patinated by me for the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels modernes Paris 1925. Entered the National Museum of Luxembourg in 1926 Charles Masson being curator. E. Navellier".
