Rare secretary in solid mahogany molded and panelled; of rectangular shape with concave uprights, it opens with a flap concealing the stepped paperweight with nine drawers, one containing the inkwell and the silver powder case (hallmark of Jean-François Guidamour; letter-date 1762) and in the lower part by two leaves; the front divided into four panels separated by simulated or fixed frames. Beautiful ornamentation of chased and gilded bronze such as friezes of Greek, rosettes, falls with ribbons and friezes of posts. Grey veined white Carrara marble top. Louis XVI period. This piece of furniture of great quality has a moulded and flat mounted bas-relief. H : 130 - W : 84 - D : 42 cm.
