DIGNITARY SWORD OF THE SECOND EMPIRE. Gilt bronze and mother-of-pearl mounting. Round pommel with four rows, friezes and body decorated with acanthus leaf. Joint arch with plant interlacing pattern and slightly curved quillon with vine leaf decoration. Openwork keyboard with the imperial eagle on a thunderbolt on a background of vegetal interlacing. Plain mother-of-pearl plates decorated with the line. Straight blade with triangular section engraved with acid in the line. Wooden scabbard covered with white leather with two gilded and chased brass fittings. Gusseted cap in the shape of an acanthus leaf, chased body with scroll decoration. Bouterolle with plant motifs, spherical sting. It is accompanied by a brass plate marked "Henri Joseph Edgar Cte Simeon Imperial Coronation of Moscow 1866". It is the coronation of Tsar Nicolas II on September 7, 1856. HENRI SIMÉON 1828-1808. Son of Henri Siméon. 1st Secretary of embassy in Bern, Switzerland.
