Luigi VALADIER (1726-1785) Coffee pot from the Borghese service Graphite drawing and brown ink on paper. Dim. 17 x 14 cm The Borghese service was considered the most beautiful service made in Rome at the end of the 18th century, it was commissioned by Prince Mark-Antoine Borghese. It was melted down at the time of the treaty of Tolentino, signed in 1797 to settle the war damages imposed by Napoleon Bonaparte. Bibliography: A.
