CHINE Rare large red lacquered bronze statuette of an acuoye guanyin standing in a long robe (dothi) revealing a bare torso held at the waist by a belt decorated with flowers, a scarf tied on the sides falling on either side of the body. She is adorned with a large necklace, bracelets on the upper arms, earrings and a tiara adorned with an image of a seated Buddha. The hair is in a bun with braids (jatamukuta). In the style of the Dali Kingdom, Yunnan. Possibly 12th century. Traces of gilding under the lacquer. Missing forearms, one foot, traces of re-soldering, numerous traces of blue oxidation inside, crusty patina. Height : 41 cm
