Title and Avertissement on double page, folded title-frontispiece, and 19 tables presenting the military history of France from the reign of Clovis to the year 1730, decorated with standards, coats of arms, plans of fortifications, views of monuments and allegorical compositions, all engraved in intaglio or on wood, with printed texts pasted on.

All plates are mounted on mitre, some are canvas-backed. On the upper flyleaf, an engraved bookplate "de Pantin de la Hamelinière".
