Contemporary rosewood calf, gilt arms in the centre of the boards, spine gilt, gilt title and tomaison. 16], 351 pp ; [2], 377 pp. Second edition. The original appeared in 1697. "It is, in the judgment of several critics, Marsollier's best work." (Quérard. La France littéraire, t. 5, p. 563). >Example of Étienne de Meaux, lord of Châtillon, Marbré, la Douze (1703-1763). He was appointed president of the bailliage and presidial of Mâcon. Handwritten bookplate on the title pages : "Souget". O.H.R. pl. 276, n° 2. Occasionally heavily worn with missing headpieces, spines and corners.
