Full contemporary calf, gilt arms in the centre of the boards, triple gilt fillet in the frame, spine ribbed and decorated, later red morocco title-pieces and green morocco tomato-pieces. Original edition. A copy bearing the arms of René de Froullay de Tessé, knight of Malta at the grand priory of Aquitaine, ambassador of Malta in France and in charge of a diplomatic mission to the king of Prussia, in 1753. Printed bookplate: R. Chardey - Havre, pasted on the upper flyleaf. O.H.R. pl. 973. Small cracks in the headpieces, dull corners, rubbing of the spines.
