THEODORET - EVAGRE. History of the Church. Paris, Pierre Rocolet, Damien Foucault, 1676. 1 vol in-4. Full contemporary red morocco, triple gilt fillet framing the boards, central arms, gilt numeral in the corner, ornate spine, gilt numeral in the caissons, gilt title, gilt edges, gilt lace on the edges and inside. 56] ff, 750pp, [5]ff. Vignette with the Royal Arms on the title page and an engraved header. Translation by Cousin, president of the Cour des Monnoyes. Bound in unidentified arms. Scratched tome on the spine and provenance label "L'Abbé de Belford", glued on the title page concealing the tome: volume IV. One of the crowns at the head of the numeral also partly scratched, on the spine. Corners dulled, small stains on the boards.
