Green vellum decorated with a semis of L, I I and S crossed out gilt, beautiful gilt frame on the boards, gilt edges. Title, title-frontispiece, [65]ff, 390pp ; [4]ff, 134pp. Pagination error: no pages 185 186, not missing.
Complete with title-frontispiece by Firens, hors-texte plate "Encampment of a Roman army...".
Most probably missing some preliminary leaves.
