Bound in pastiche: speckled basane, spine with ornate nerves, red morocco title-piece. Frontispiece title with date 1677, [1] f, title, [9] ff. 257 pp ; Frontispiece title, 259 pp. The last page of part 1, page 257 is bound in just after the table. Engraved title-frontispiece, 174 engraved medals, numbered for part 1, and 281 engraved medals, unnumbered for part 2, including one traced medallion left blank, all engraved on copper by Jacques de Bie. Printing error on page 24: Medals VII to X repeated twice on pages 15 and 24. Medals XI to XIV are present on loose paper. New edition. "Caesar Ripa's Iconology first appeared in Rome in 1593."
