[BINDING WITH PAPAL COAT OF ARMS]. Leges prudentiæ episcopalis ad optimum ecclesiæ regimen indictæ. To Iosepho Maraviglia episcopo novariensi, &c. Atque Beatissimo patri Innocentio XI. Pont. Opt. Max. dicatæ. Augustæ Taurinorum, Typis Bartholomæi Zappatæ, 1678. 1 vol. in-4. Full red morocco, papal coat of arms gilt in the centre of the boards, large framing decoration partly in dotted lines as well as a floral frieze, spine gilt, title gilt, edges gilt, gilt roulette inside and on the edges. Copy with the arms of Pope Innocent XI, dedicatee of the work. An old handwritten note indicates: "This volume belonged to Pope Innocent XI to whom the work is dedicated. His arms adorn the binding of the book and are also found on the title." Manuscript note in Latin by Cajetanus Alessi Parochus. (or Pavochus). Superb binding with the arms of Pope Innocent XI. Heavy freckling in the text.
