The life of Madame de Miramion. Paris, Antoine Dezallier, 1706. 1 vol. in-4. Full lemon morocco, large gilt border lace, gilt arms in the centre of the boards, spine ribbed and decorated, title stamped in black, vermilion red morocco lining with gilt border lace, gold dominated paper endpapers, gilt edges. Portrait-frontispiece, [4]ff, 261pp, [5]ff tables and Privilege. 1] blank page.
Complete with the portrait-frontispiece by Le Troy engraved by the knight Edelinck, headband and lettering.
A fine copy with large margins. Rare copy of Madame de Montespan (1641-1707), very rare provenance. Françoise Athénaïs de Rochechouart de Mortemart, marquise de Montespan, was the mistress of Louis XIV from 1667 to 1683. Quentin-Bauchart says that he has encountered only six works bound with her arms.

The title piece may be missing. Spotting on the second board, one corner dull, rubbing at the ends of some of the nerves, small wormholes at the spine
Small stain on the lower margin of page 93. Small hole at top of page 213, with damage to two letters and pagination. Slight angular spotting to leaves Dd and Ddii.
