Polyanthea opus suavissimis floribus exornatum [...]. Coloniæ, ex officnia Gasparis Gennepæi, 1546. 1 vol. in-folio. 4]ff, CCCVI ff. Full contemporary basane, double gilt fillet on the boards, central arms, spine ribbed and decorated with ermines, gilt title, gilt edges.
Large woodcut framing the title. Printed on two columns. "The famous encyclopedia in the mold of which all European intellectuals of the classical age were formed and whose history has yet to be written." (Lobbes).
> Armorial binding with four ermines, provenance not identified. Handwritten bookplate Lemoine de la Pisandaise (?).
Manuscript bookplate Count Alphonse de la Guère.
Important lack in the centre of the title page. Missing the top cap, rubbing on the boards.
