[MANUSCRIT]. SONGS]. Collection of songs In French, manuscript on paper France, 18th century 262 ff., preceded by 26 ff. (4 endpapers and [22] ff. of tables), followed by 15 blank ff. and endpapers, cursive writing in brown ink. Bound in tan calf, spine with 6 compartments, gilt lettering on the spine, scrollwork on the edges, red edges, marbled paper counterguards and endpapers turned. Covers damaged, spines cracked, epidermis on the boards and stains. Dimensions: 210 x 325 mm. A note on the verso of the first endpaper reads: "Quelques chansons de Maurepas". The "Chansonnier de Maurepas" (fr. 12616-12659) or collection of songs, vaudevilles, sonnets, epigrams, etc., is kept at the BnF. Some are published in the Recueil de Maurepas. Pièces libres, chanson, épigrammes...(Paris, 1865). Provenance: From the library of Eugène-Emmanuel Viollet Le Duc (1814-1879), with his exlibris vignette affixed to the upper front cover.
