Louis XIII (1601-1643) Roi de France. - Lot 46
Louis XIII (1601-1643) Roi de France. L.A.S., to his mother MARIE DE MÉDICIS; 2 pages in-folio, addressed "A la Royne Madame ma mere" with 2 red wax seals with arms (broken) on pink silk lakes (upper right corner slightly cut without touching the text). Very nice letter from Louis XIII to his mother. "Madame. I have as much displeasure in not having been able to satisfy your desire entirely as I have contentment in having put myself in term, and at least to have had the matter changed, because not being able to deny the establishment of the presbytery in the outskirts of Moulins since by esdict, judgement of the commissioners and arrest of my council I was obliged to do so, however invited by my inclination and your will I have transferred not only further but even changed the side. I beg you to accept my procedure and to take it as a sample of the testimonies which I wish to give you of my respect and affection. M. de Villeserin will give him news of his health and M. de Roissy of his affairs "and of what has been done in Italy through my mediation and authority". He ends "by kissing your hands and recommending me to your good graces", as his "most humble and obedient son"...
