L.S. "Vro Il Carle Borromeo", Rome 19 August 1564, to Giovanni Battista ULISSE, lieutenant at Tossignano; 1 page folio, addressed with red wax seals with arms and pink ribbon; in Italian. Nice letter as he has just been appointed archbishop of Milan (12 May). He addresses letters to him for their men, and for Messrs. of Martorana and Imola granting them license to carry the grain harvested in Tos-signano ("licentia di poter portar raccolto nelle possessni loro che hanno in quella giurisdittione a Tossignano"), and he asks him to give them help and favour ("l'aiuto a favore") to do so. He waits to know how much has been recovered ("quanti saranno li denari, che havrete riscosso") and delivered to Bologna through the Regent Besozzo, of whom he has been without news for more than a month That he does not fail to pay attention to the revenue of the ordinary and extraordinary during the time he has remained in this post ("Non dovendo mancare d'attendere alle riscossa dell'ordrio e straor-drio occorso pel tempo che vi trovate à quel governo)...
