[THEATER]. [COMIC OPERA]. JYSOR (Robert)]. File relating to Robert Jysor (1893-1982), opera singer Scores of handwritten notated music and printed sheet music. Introduced to opera by his mother, Robert Jysor began a career as a singer and actor (he is said to have acted with Sarah Bernhardt), and later became a cinema director. In 1920, he was in Nice where he was hired at the Petit Casino for eight months; then in Liège, at the Théâtre Royal where he became familiar with the repertoire of classical operas and operettas. In the 1930s, he moved to the Opéra-Comique. From there until the beginning of the fifties, he created various roles in operetta.
