[ARCHITECTURE]. [NATIONAL ARMS CIRCLE]. [BRANDON (RAOUL)]. Three great drawings, plans for the Cercle national des armies. Raoul Jacques Brandon, French architect and politician, was born in 1878 and died in 1941. After setting up his own architectural firm, he became involved in professional associations, becoming a member of the Conseil supérieur des Beaux-Arts and taking over the presidency of the Société libre des artistes français. The building on Place Saint-Augustin is the work of the chief architect of the National Palaces, Charles Lemaresquier, a member of the Institute. It was built, from 1925 to 1927, on land vacated by the destruction of part of the barracks of the Nursery. 1.
