Giovanni Gariboldi (1908-1971) Sloping desk forming a secretary with mahogany flap The pedestal opens with a parchment-covered flap decorated with laurel wreaths and reveals a compartmentalized sycamore wood interior. It rests on four curved blackened wooden legs circa 1950 H: 120 L: 90 P: 40 cm After working with Gio Ponti since 1928, collaborating with Paolo Buffa, and receiving a gold medal for his ceramics at the 1937 Paris International Exhibition, Gariboldi ran the Richard Ginori company and continued to design pieces and create some furniture for his exhibitions.
