[JANSÉNISME].
Poems on the Unigenitus Constitution. Collected by the Chevalier de G.. Officer of the Regiment of Champagne. Villefranche, Philalete Belhumeur, 1724. 2 small volumes in-8. Full contemporary fawn calf, arms in the centre of the boards, triple gilt fillet in the frame, spine ribbed and decorated, red morocco title-pieces and brown morocco tomato, gilt edges.
An engraved and captioned frontispiece, dated 1723, a title vignette, repeated in both volumes, a vignette at the end of volume II, two plates, one of which is a fold-out entitled "Le jeu de la Constitution", often missing, three sheets of engraved music "Tables des airs", numbered 4 - 8 - 12 and 15.
Two sheets of music must be missing With the arms of Louis-Marie-Augustin, duke of Aumont, peer of France. (Franche-Comté). "The Duke of Aumont had formed magnificent collections of art objects and books. (...) A large part of the volumes that belonged to him is now in the Bibliothèque Nationale."
