BIBLE - PLANTIN] Biblia, ad vetustissima exemplaria castigata. Followed by Libri regum [...] Antwerp, Christophori Plantini, 1567. 2 vols. in-16. Full contemporary red morocco, double fillet on the boards, vegetal medallion in the centre of the boards, smooth spine decorated with a gilt vegetal motif, gilt edges.
In six parts which have their own foliation and titles; the first part is undated, the other parts are dated 1567. From the present whereabouts, it appears that the volumes were mostly traded separately.
We present here: Biblia: containing Liber Genesis (...) and Libri Regum, Paralipomenon, Esdræ, Tobiæ, Judith, Esther , Job (title page of the second volume). Armorial bookplate of Pantin de la Hamelinière de la Guère, pasted on the back cover. Manuscript bookplate on title page: "Cartier".
