[MANUSCRIT]. [MUSIC]. [GUFFROY]. Collection of songs with violin, guitar and harpsichord accompaniment. Guffroy copiste de musique chez le papetier rue Croix des Petits Champs. In French, manuscript on paper with notated music France, mid-18th century 286 pp, followed by 24 blank ff. (staves and justification but without text and notated music) + 5 ff. of tables, work preceded by 2 ff. of paper endpapers and followed by 3 ff. of paper endpapers, title page calligraphed in ink, stencilled decoration, staves and texts opposite framed with a border in pale red ink. Bound in 18th c. red morocco smooth spine decorated with flowers, title on the spine "Recueil de chansons", triple gilt fillet on the boards, roulettes on the edges and inside, marbled paper endpapers, gilt edges. Good condition inside, some penning, redacted coat of arms on title with fleur-de-lys erased, probably during the Revolution. Dimensions : 120 x 190 mm. Manuscript collection of songs, popular tunes and scores, with violin, guitar and harpsichord accompaniment, copied by the music copyist Guffroy. Other manuscripts signed "Guffroy" have been preserved, such as the one kept at the BnF (BnF, Richelieu, Res F-488). Guffroy's name is also mentioned in the Almanach musical (Paris, 1775) where he is listed among the "music copyists": "MM. Guffroy, rue du Bouloy, Hôtel de la Reine de France". Provenance: Armorial bookplate "From the library of M. Al. de la Fizelière". Albert Patin de la Fizelière (pen name Ludovic de Marsay) (1819-1878) was a friend of Baudelaire. An art critic, he wrote a large number of articles relating to the arts and was also linked to the bookseller-publisher Techener, for whom he worked as a gallery owner and bibliographer.
